A corner of the city
that feels like home
The Bean Box 701 started as a weekend pop-up at the North Park farmers market — a folding table, a well-worn sourdough starter, and a conviction that San Diego deserved a bakery that took its time.
Three years later, we occupy a quiet corner at 701 B Street in the heart of downtown. Our oven runs from dawn until the last loaf is boxed. Our regulars know us by name, and we know how they take their coffee.
This is not a chain. This is not a franchise. This is a small team that believes a great baguette can change someone's day — and that the best businesses are the ones that feel like a welcome part of the neighborhood.
